I have walked into rooms or along hallways where one of my senses have picked up an essence of my mother. Opened boxes long closed
and have once again been in the company of my father. These fragmented moments, like memory mementoes, then trigger an overwhelming avalanche of emotive responses. In a similar way music has the potential for the same cause and effect, although i was surprised at the path my own choices took, being split between favourite and hopefully memory triggering references. Once i started the list it was difficult to stop, not because i wanted more songs in that list, but because thankfully as I am now, each song started the surge of emotive memory linking the past to the present and towards a future. Sound And Vision and Satellite Of Love will, with hope, remind me of my beautiful children, now grown up, but those two tracks take me back to their early years and our bond.
